At Paradise Valley Heart and Rhythm Dr Jeffrey Munro provides comprehensive care for cardiac electrophysiology, atrial fibrillation and cardiology in the Phoenix, Arizona and surround Scottsdale and Paradise Valley Area.

Jeffrey Munro, DO

Dr. Jeffrey Munro was born and raised in New Jersey where he attended Rutgers College to study physics and mathematics before going to medical school at University of Medicine and Dentistry. He continued his training in New Jersey, including a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in general cardiology, and subsequently moved to Arizona to complete his fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Mayo Clinic. He has practiced cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology in Minnesota and Arizona since 2016.

Dr. Munro is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Cardiac Electrophysiology. His areas of expertise in cardiology include catheter ablation, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, pacemakers and implantable defibrillators (ICD’s).

When not in the office, Dr. Munro enjoys hiking, camping, mountaineering, cycling and spending time with his family.

Achievements

  • Published in multiple peer reviewed journals as well as a book chapter in Cardiac Electrophysiology.

  • Presented at national as well as international conferences including Nice, France and Tel Aviv, Israel on topics including atrial fibrillation diagnosis and treatment, stroke, ventricular tachycardia and other electrophysiology topics.

Neil Patel, NP

Neil Patel, an Arizona native, earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona, his Master of Science in Nursing Education at Grand Canyon University, and his Doctor of Nursing Practice at Arizona State University, obtaining dual certification as a Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

He previously worked as a registered nurse, caring for complex patients at Banner University Medical Center – Phoenix and Flagstaff Medical Center, and currently serves as a faculty member in nursing. During this time, he developed a strong interest in cardiology through caring for patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, congenital heart diseases, heart transplants, and other cardiac disorders. Neil is an active member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS). His philosophy of care is to educate and empower patients to make long-term, sustainable lifestyle choices that support their health and well-being.

Outside of work, Neil enjoys traveling, exploring the local culinary scene, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
